ORGAN DISCOVERY DAY

Mozart said “The organ will ever be the King of Instruments.”
Today is a chance to get up close and personal with the crown jewels, the 10,000 pipe Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ. Backstage tours visit the Organ Museum and view the pipes at close range. Organists, both novice and experienced, can get a hands-on guided session. There is a special presentation The Loaded Dog in which kids and families can learn about the Grand Organ and its fascinating sounds through one of Australia's favourite tales. Presented by ABC Classic FM Presenter Julian Day and organist Brendon Lukin, this newcomer's introduction to the organ includes music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and more. No bookings required.
Schedule:
